StarlinkFly data for developers and agents

Read the same evidence available on our public pages, with explicit sources, dates and limits.

Read the evidence, preserve its scope

Aircraft installation, scheduled assignment and working connectivity are different facts. Missing records do not mean no Starlink. These snapshots do not confirm availability on a travel date.

These endpoints read stored snapshots only. They never trigger a live upstream flight lookup. Private reports, IP addresses, review notes and admin records are not included.

Endpoints

GET endpointContents
/data/airlines.jsonAirline rollout evidence, 25 per page
/data/airlines/ua.jsonOne airline; replace ua with a directory code
/data/airlines/ua/aircraft.jsonPublished aircraft evidence, 25 per page
/data/flights.jsonAvailable United flight snapshots, 25 per page
/data/flights/ua1006.jsonA published flight snapshot; use the flight index to discover valid numbers

Follow next until it is null. Lists accept ?page=2. JSON schemas and response codes: OpenAPI 3.1 specification. Navigation for text-based clients: llms.txt.

Field definitions

evidence_date / count_date
The date of the source claim or provider snapshot, not the date we generated this response.
last_source_check
When a monitored source was last checked; a recent check does not make a historical announcement current.
official_airline_scope
Official airline-level evidence, limited to the stated fleet, subfleet or announcement. Not an individual-flight verdict.
official / tracker / reported
Aircraft-level evidence: an officially named registration, a third-party tracker listing, or an unverified third-party report, respectively. None alone confirms working connectivity on a particular flight.
tracker_reported / tracker_aircraft_association
A third-party aircraft listing or association; not independently audited installation or connectivity at flight time.
third_party_report / reported
A third-party research lead, not an official installation confirmation.
null
Unknown or unpublished, never zero, false or proof of absence.
citation_url / source_url
Link to the public StarlinkFly explanation when citing us; retain the original evidence source as well.

Example request

curl -i 'https://www.starlinkfly.com/data/airlines/ua.json'

Caching, errors and limits

GET and HEAD are supported; OPTIONS provides public CORS. Responses are cached for up to 5 minutes and include an ETag. Send If-None-Match to receive 304 when unchanged. Snapshot source dates are preserved. Updates follow our existing collection schedules.

Limits: 60 requests per source IP per minute, and 600 per minute across the service. Limits are enforced independently of claimed bot identity. A 429 response includes Retry-After: 60. A 404 means no published resource, not no Starlink. A 503 means temporarily unavailable. Date-specific queries and undocumented parameters are rejected; use the human flight checker for live lookups.

Citation and reuse

Attribute StarlinkFly with the record’s citation_url and preserve source dates, confidence and scope. Original sources retain their own rights and licence terms; this interface does not grant a blanket licence over third-party content.

Usage measurement

We store aggregate endpoint request counts, response status, cache hit/miss, latency totals and a coarse client category. Bot names in user agents are self-reported, not verified identities. Rate-limit keys hash the source IP with a server secret and a time bucket; raw IPs are not stored in these usage tables. Aggregates are retained for up to 90 days, with expired rows removed by scheduled maintenance. Visits referred from AI websites can be inspected separately in Analytics; requests, referral visits and citations are different measurements.
